NAPS NORTHERN SECTION DISPLAY AT HARROGATE
Thursday 14th of April to Sunday 17th of April 2011
Once again the Northern Section built and manned a display at the
Harrogate Spring Flower show at the Great Yorkshire Show Ground at
Harrogate, North Yorkshire from Thursday the 14th of April to Sunday the
17th of April 2011, the Society was awarded Gold for the display by the
judges. Mark Nuttall the team leader has asked me to include the
following statement.
"Gold Again at Harrogate"
"Mark would like to congratulate
the Harrogate team for their hard work and dedication in putting on a
splendid show of primulas and Auriculas. It has been a difficult year.
there were plenty of good auriculas, however it was a real challenge to
fill the stand with primulas, they were in very short supply this year.
A big thank you to all who donated and brought plants.
I had a night without sleep on
Tuesday the day before setting up the stand.. I ironed the curtains they
ended up with more creases than they had before I started. But on
arriving at Harrogate as usual
dedicated members of the society brought plants. Hazel Nottingham made
the plants look stunning with the support of Joan Howard, most of the
plants we had were in very good crisp condition, there was a lack of
some colours plenty of white and yellow but not enough pinks reds. Red
self's saved the day a large pot of scorcher brought some colour to the
right side of the stand this completed the show.
Once again it was the pure dedication of the team that we have achieved
a gold award in 2011. There is a lot too do for next year Just about
everything needs renewing. anyone wishing to be involved please contact
me as We need a good joiner and plenty of donations of good plants.
I would like to personally thank, Terry, Bob, Hazel, Benny. John,
Doreen, Barry, Jeanne, Liz, Kate, Viv, Reg, Len Lesley, Dave. If I have
missed anyone sorry Oh yes and I like to thank myself.
